The vacant office building on Kilwijkstraat in Dordrecht has been converted into 58 rental properties in the middle-rental segment. The modern and sustainable apartments come fully furnished, in a mid-century design.
The former roof structure has been replaced to create space for a number of roof dwellings and a communal roof terrace to enjoy during the good weather. Residents can also make use of the communal launderette. Bicycles can be stored in the bike shed. Parking spaces are also available.
In 2021, The building formed the canvas for special public artwork about “True Freedom”. During the Hoff Festival, participants were allowed to fill in the various leaves. Among others, the portrait of Willem van Oranje, a cherub with a laurel wreath, and various children’s drawings about freedom can be found.
The work was created by Barbara van Druten and Niki Koutouras from artvertisements on behalf of the National Museum of Education.
